A greater budget has been allocated by the Estepona Municipality for public transportation services, aiming to enhance the quality of service. Additionally, monitoring mechanisms will be strengthened to ensure that transit schedules are strictly followed by the vehicles. The contract with the company Avanza has been renewed for another year, amounting to 697,634 euros. The existing three lines will continue to operate, serving various areas within the city. New vehicles with increased passenger capacity will soon replace the current ones, as part of the contract terms. The responsibility for vehicle maintenance, handling of user feedback, and overall service management lies with the concessionaire. The Municipality, on the other hand, will intensify monitoring activities to guarantee service excellence, including inspections, spot checks along routes, data verification, and user surveys. Plans are underway for a new concession tender, aiming for an extended duration and higher financial investment to meet the growing demand due to the city’s population growth.
