In the 2026 budget, Estepona City Council has earmarked nearly 13 million euros to enhance and modernize the human and material resources of the Local Police. This includes expanding the number of officers, improving telecommunications, acquiring new police vehicles, installing traffic control cameras, and renovating the police headquarters. The new budget prioritizes public safety, with a focus on increasing workforce and upgrading equipment to better serve residents and visitors. Plans include creating new positions for agents, in addition to the ongoing recruitment processes for 17 Local Police positions. Furthermore, funds have been allocated for the comprehensive renovation of the police headquarters and gymnasium, as well as for the installation of traffic control cameras. These investments aim to enhance security and optimize traffic management in the city. The municipal accounts also set aside resources for the purchase of new vehicles for Local Police and Civil Protection members and volunteers, recognizing their valuable contributions to the community.
