The esteemed Parallel Quartet will take the audience on a journey through the emotions of cinema with a curated selection of iconic soundtracks. These melodies, which have underscored memorable stories on the silver screen, will be reimagined as an intimate, sophisticated, and immersive experience, paying homage to the warmth and expressiveness of string instruments. Formed in Madrid in 2023, Parallel Quartet aims to present innovative musical concepts that resonate with contemporary audiences, focusing on avant-garde music and new compositions. The quartet has participated in prestigious events like Interlaken Classics 2025 in Switzerland and Sulayr Clásica in Granada, where they shared the stage with Bernard Gregor-Smith of the Lindsay Quartet. They have performed at renowned venues including Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, Auditorio BBVA, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Museo de las Colecciones Reales, German Embassy, and Fundación Carlos de Amberes. Noteworthy composers like Wim Zwaag and Luis Fonseca have dedicated works to them, such as quartets n.1 and n.2 by Zwaag and Dychotomies by Fonseca. The members of Parallel Quartet have received training from prestigious musical institutions across Europe including Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig, Escuela Superior Reina Sofía, and Centro Superior Katarina Gurska, collaborating with members of renowned chamber music ensembles like Alban Berg Quartett, Hagen Quartett, Cuarteto Quiroga, and Kopelman Quartet. They have been selected by Patrimonio Nacional to perform with the Stradivarius at the Royal Palace of Madrid during the 2025/26 season, with support from the Goethe Foundation.
