The Estepona City Council has announced that Abraham Boba, the vocalist of Leon Benavente, will be giving a free concert on the same day to mark the gala award ceremony of the V International Poetry Prize ‘City of Estepona’. The coveted prize this year has been bestowed upon the work ‘Anidan minerals’ by Madrid writer Julia Viejo Sanchez. This competition, organized by the local government, has gained prominence in Spain due to its high level of participation and the substantial prize of 7,000 euros along with the publication of the winning work by the prestigious Editorial Pre-Textos, a renowned name in Spanish poetry. The ceremony will be held at the concert hall of the Mirador del Carmen on Thursday, October 23, followed by a performance by Abraham Boba at 8 p.m. Entry to the concert will be free, subject to availability. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with the award-winning author, Julia Viejo, to explore her literary journey, delve into the creative process behind ‘Anidan minerales’, and engage directly with her about her writing techniques. She has contributed to the short story anthology ‘Una Navidad así’ (Tusquets, 2024) and curated two poetry anthologies by Gloria Fuertes (‘Lo que pasa es que te quiero’, 2023, and ‘La gente corre tanto’, 2024).
