The popular event ‘Chess for Everyone’ is open to the public and will run until August 29th from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The Estepona City Council has announced that the Municipal Sports Chess School has started organizing rapid chess games and giant games on the oversized boards along the Paseo Marítimo since July. Similar to previous years, the ‘Chess for Everyone’ event is free and accessible to all who are interested, and will continue until August 29th from 19:00 to 22:00. This initiative is part of the Chess Promotion Plan introduced by the Estepona City Council in 2011, which has provided chess training to all children born after 2004, offering significant intellectual benefits to participants. Upcoming chess events this summer include the II Memorial ‘Juan Miguel Abril Rodríguez’ on July 8th, and the XXXIX Nocturno de Ajedrez ‘Ciudad de Estepona’ on August 21st, both taking place at the Paseo Marítimo. Additionally, the Municipal Sports Chess School will offer chess classes for the U8-10 and U12-14-16 groups throughout July and August from 12:00 to 13:00 at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center and the Mayor’s Office of Cancelada.
