The City Council in Estepona is actively engaged in a campaign to disinfect and exterminate rats, covering a total of 426 kilometers of the sewerage network. The fumigation process is carried out in various zones within the urban center and outskirts, targeting 19,771 manholes and 10,573 scuppers. Hidralia, the water supply service concessionaire, is responsible for the operations, focusing on eliminating rodent and insect infestations that may be present in the network. This ongoing effort is crucial for maintaining public health and hygiene standards in the municipality. Treatments are strategically planned throughout the year, with a particular emphasis from May to October to coincide with breeding seasons and prevent the proliferation of pests. Residents and businesses are informed in advance about the scheduled works, which are conducted early in the morning to minimize disruptions. In collaboration with Precero, the company responsible for area cleaning, Hidralia ensures a comprehensive approach to pest control and monitoring of incidents reported by the community.
