Estepona City Council announces Carnival 2025 festivities with costume contest and performances

The upcoming Carnival celebration in Estepona is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, at Plaza del Ajedrez starting at noon. The event will include a costume contest and performances by various ‘comparsas’ and ‘chirigotas’. In case of inclement weather, the festivities will be relocated to the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses. The program for the day includes a children’s carnival party with entertainment and a disguise contest, followed by performances by different groups such as Chirigota of Estepona / San Pedro, Chirigota de Estepona, and Comparsa de Marbella. The day will conclude with the traditional Burial of the Sardine procession towards La Rada beach. Estepona City Council encourages attendees to dress up and join the celebration, promising a lively and colorful Carnival experience.
