The municipality’s main tourist attraction, the Botanical Orchid Park, is set for a major overhaul that includes new plantings, pavement remodeling, painting, street furniture upgrades, pedestrian paths, and enhanced lighting. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the park will undergo its largest reform yet to improve its image and services. The project involves new trees, a botanical collection, updated lighting, paving, and street furniture. With a focus on maintaining the park’s current design while enhancing its overall condition, the renovation will also feature the installation of informational signs for visitors. The entire pavement will be replaced with an ecological and permeable material to enhance pedestrian accessibility, and the urban furniture will be updated to align with the park’s new aesthetic. The budget for the works is set at 191,984.87 euros with a two-month completion timeline. Additionally, improvements to the irrigation system, exterior wall waterproofing, and security panel replacements are included in the intervention. The City Council will also upgrade the lighting system to LED equipment for more efficient and noise-free illumination, with scenic lighting for the botanical specimens. These enhancements aim to boost the park’s civic and safety standards, as well as improve accessibility, biodiversity, and cultural experience.
