The Annual Report of the Red Cross in Estepona was presented today by Maria Aguilar, councilor for Citizen Participation, and Enrique Garcia, president of the local assembly. The report highlighted the organization’s work in social inclusion, elderly care, youth support, children’s services, immigration assistance, and combatting gender violence. Throughout the previous year, the Red Cross assisted 1,482 individuals through 27,453 social interventions, showcasing their dedication, solidarity, and impactful efforts towards the most vulnerable members of society. The City Council expressed its appreciation for the Red Cross and emphasized their commitment to supporting organizations that serve those in need. Maria Aguilar also outlined the collaborative efforts of the Council to ensure continued support for these entities through financial aid, provision of premises, and participation in charity events. Enrique Garcia, president of the local assembly, highlighted the significant contributions of volunteers and the organization’s growth in various projects, with a total of 119 volunteers dedicating 11,150 hours of service and the support of 1,182 partners. The focus areas included health, environment, education, children, youth, elderly care, immigration, gender violence, and emergency response.
