Residents will need to deliver a minimum of three loads of waste per year to the designated clean point. Upon each delivery, a receipt will be issued, which must be presented to the Patronato de Recaudacion in the first quarter of 2026 to claim the reduction in the bill. The Estepona City Council has announced a rebate on the garbage fee for residents who utilize the city’s clean point for waste disposal. This initiative is part of the municipal ordinance governing the collection and treatment of solid urban waste, which has recently been updated to mitigate the impact of the government-mandated fee hike. The garbage fee has been adjusted in compliance with Law 7/2022, which mandates that taxpayers cover the costs of waste collection, disposal, and incineration at treatment facilities. To offset the burden of the central government’s increased fee, the City Council will offer a 3% discount on the total amount to taxpayers who deposit acceptable waste at an authorized clean point at least three times a year. This not only helps in recycling efforts but also aids in environmental conservation. Interested parties must apply for the discount annually in the first quarter of the tax year, submitting documentation detailing the previous year’s deposits. Applications can be made at the Patronato de Recaudación Provincial headquarters on Luis Braille Street in the Puertosol building. Required documents include a standard application form, a copy of the previous year’s Waste Collection Tax receipt, and copies of the receipts for each deposit made at the clean point. The Estepona Clean Point, situated on Pinsapo Street en route to Los Reales, accepts waste items that do not have designated containers on public roads, such as mattresses, electronic devices, X-rays, and oils. The facility aims to collect and categorize these items for responsible and eco-friendly management, preventing illegal dumping of large items that regular waste services cannot handle. Additionally, it segregates hazardous waste for specialized treatment in accordance with regulations, while promoting public awareness of environmental conservation. The City Council urges residents to utilize this facility to contribute to recycling efforts, environmental preservation, and public health. Presently, the Estepona Clean Point operates on summer hours, open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 and Saturdays from 9:00 to 13:00, with afternoon closures. Starting September 22, the winter schedule will be Monday to Saturday: 10:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 18:00, except on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
