Up until August 31, aspiring designers have the opportunity to submit their creations for consideration. A panel of judges will select the top eight designers to showcase their work in a fashion show on September 27 at the Botanical-Orquidarium Park. The Estepona City Council has announced that registration is now open for the VI Young Designers’ Contest ‘Estepona de Moda’, which will be part of the IX Estepona Fashion Week taking place from September 24 to 27. In collaboration with Juanchy García Estudio and image consultant Miguel Toledo, this contest aims to promote and acknowledge the talent of designers aged between 18 and 35 who are either born in Spain or can demonstrate residency and/or study in the country at the time of the contest’s announcement. The panel will select the finalists, who will have the opportunity to showcase their designs at a runway show on September 27 at the Botanical-Orquidario Park. On the same day, a judging panel consisting of professionals from the fashion industry will determine the winner, who will receive a prize of €1,000 and a trophy. The second and third place winners will receive prizes of €500 and €300 respectively, along with trophies. Additionally, the City Council will award five €200 honorable mentions. The contest guidelines stipulate that participation is limited to individuals. Interested candidates must submit a collection of six designs representing any fashion style via email to esteponademoda@gmail.com, with the subject line ‘Contest Estepona de Moda’. Detailed rules and regulations can be found on the Estepona Town Hall website.
