New showers have been installed at La Rada and El Cristo beaches in Estepona, allowing users with reduced mobility to shower without needing to transfer from their wheelchair or amphibious chair. These adapted showers have a unique wing-shaped design that provides comfort and convenience to wheelchair users. They are situated at beaches where the City Council offers assisted bathing services annually, namely at El Cristo and La Rada beaches near the Monterroso River. The councilor responsible for Beaches, Susana Aragon, highlighted the importance of these showers in facilitating bathing for individuals with limited mobility, making it a more comfortable and safe experience. The free assisted bathing service will be available from June 15 to September 15, between 12:00 and 20:00, with a dedicated technician to provide adapted materials to those in need. The City Council of Estepona has authorized the opening of showers on municipal beaches this summer, following the lifting of restrictions imposed due to drought conditions. The new measures aim to promote responsible and sustainable water usage, with the showers equipped with water-saving devices such as timer buttons to prevent wastage. Councilwoman Susana Aragon emphasized the importance of continued responsible water consumption, even after the restrictions have been lifted.
