The upcoming plenary session will see the Estepona City Council propose the allocation of funds from the 2024 surplus towards the renovation of Juanito Valderrama, Estandarte, and Colón squares, as well as the Fuerzas Armadas neighborhood. Plans also include the construction of a velodrome, a new asphalt plan, and the integration of private parking into the municipal network at a cost of 1 euro during the day. Estepona’s investment budget for this year will see a significant increase to facilitate new projects and enhancements across the municipality. By extending the municipal accounts, 7.7 million euros from the 2024 surplus will be utilized. These funds will be dedicated to a comprehensive remodeling and infrastructure plan to address any necessary improvements in public infrastructure throughout the city. Major actions are planned for various neighborhoods, including the renovation of squares and the urbanization of Plaza Fuerzas Armadas. The increased budget will also support long-awaited projects like the velodrome construction and the initiation of procedures for the new Guadalmina river path. Additionally, private parking areas will be rescued and incorporated into the Municipal Parking Network. The focus will also be on conserving and rehabilitating municipal buildings, along with implementing a new asphalting plan. Estepona’s 2024 budget settlement has delivered excellent economic results, with a surplus of 45.63 million euros and budget stability of 24.04 million euros. The City Council aims to reinvest this economic prosperity back into the community, emphasizing the importance of productive investment policies for city development. The expansion of the budget is specifically aimed at improving infrastructure and maintenance in different districts and neighborhoods of Estepona, as well as introducing new major projects.
