This weekend, the XLVIII edition of the 24 Hours of Sports will take place in various municipal facilities, bringing together over 6,500 athletes competing in 60 different sports. The collaboration between the Estepona City Council and the 24 Hours Sports Foundation was highlighted during the presentation of the event by councilman Luis Gil and foundation president Manuel Vallejo. The City Council will contribute 10,000 euros towards the organization of the event, in addition to providing access to all municipal sports venues for the competitions. Another 26,000 euros has been granted by the City of Estepona to the 24 Hours Sports Foundation for the School Games. Over 60 sports will be featured, with more than 6,500 athletes of all ages participating and around 20,000 spectators expected. A new addition this year is the introduction of rugby flag. Various activities such as Football 11, Football 7, Indoor Football, and School Sports will take place in different venues across the city. The Plaza del Recinto Ferial will host exhibitions including kikboxing, muay thay, rhythmic gymnastics, karate, and various dance forms. Additionally, nautical activities, karate, clay pigeon shooting, and tournaments in paddle tennis, judo, kick boxing, basketball, golf, chess, badminton, angling, karting, table tennis, tennis, beach tennis, and volleyball will be part of the event.
