Estepona City Council announced that more than 1,000 spectators gathered at El Calvario Park last Saturday, September 27, to witness the thrilling XIII Muay Thai evening, featuring teams from various sports clubs across the country. Organized by the Golden Boy Muaytai Sports Club of Estepona, the event received support from the Andalusian Federation and the Spanish Federation of KB (Kickboxing) and Muay Thai, with collaboration from the local government. Following amateur and junior category fights, the audience was treated to an action-packed K1 event as part of the Golden Boy Golden Series, with a total of 30 matches. The highlight of the night came with the professional bouts at 10:00 PM: Xavi Lantaron (Ultimatum), a seasoned veteran with numerous titles, clinched the Golden Series K1 championship by defeating young fighter Navarrete (Thai Dragon) with a spectacular knockout. Meanwhile, Abraham Reposo demonstrated his skill once again by winning the Hispasur championship after dominating Nieto (Laqueus) from start to finish. Mohamed Patas (Tiger Ceuta) lost his Golden Series title to Jesus Ariza ‘Cartucho’ (Thai Dragon) after a third-round knockdown. All eyes were on the intense battle between Carlos de Celis (Lum King ko) and Francisco Sallent (Shogun) for the Andalusia professional championship at 72.5 kg, with the audience on their feet as de Celis emerged victorious. Sports delegate Luis Gil expressed his satisfaction with the event’s success, highlighting its popularity among Muay Thai fans and praising the Golden Boy club for their exceptional training of fighters who have achieved top rankings in Spain and Andalusia.
