This Thursday, students from seven local schools will come together to participate in the ‘V Intercenter Solidarity Badminton Meeting’. The event aims to raise funds for the special therapies required by little Lara Pérez. Taking place at the Polideportivo El Carmen from 09.00 to 14.00 hours on November 13, the competition will see 160 young people from Secondary Education competing. The participating schools include IES Mar de Alborán, Mediterráneo, Puerta del Mar, Monterroso, and Profesor Hormigo, along with students from Juan XXIII School and Atalaya International School. Each school has selected and trained pairs to represent them, while the Badminton Club will manage the competitive system and rules adaptation. This initiative is part of a series of sports activities promoting minority sports, gender equality in sports, and the inclusion of individuals with diverse abilities. The funds raised from previous editions supported various causes, and this year’s proceeds will go towards funding therapies for little Lara Pérez. The event is organized by the City of Estepona, the participating schools, CEIP Valeriano Lopez, UBUNTU Estepona, and Estepona Badminton Club providing technical support.
