An investment exceeding 700,000 euros is being made for a comprehensive renovation and modernization of approximately twenty playgrounds. Estepona City Council has initiated a plan to enhance and revamp municipal playgrounds situated in urban and suburban areas. The primary objective of this endeavor is to revitalize these spaces, ensuring they are safe and enjoyable for children. The project entails replacing outdated play equipment and safety features with newer, more suitable alternatives. Renovation work has commenced at Santiago Apóstol street playground and will progress to Parque del Ángel and Plaza del Ajedrez. Additional sites scheduled for improvement include Cancelada nursery, Plaza de las Nieves, Tenencia de Alcaldía de Isdabe, and various other locations across the city. The initiative, awarded at 745,254 euros, aims to introduce creative and functional designs, offering a diverse range of inclusive games for different age groups. It also involves upgrading protective rubber surfaces and relocating urban furniture elements that obstruct the renovation process. The project is set to be completed within six months, elevating the standard of playground facilities for the community.
