NEWS: Estepona’s Mayor welcomes award-winning composer Josema García Hormigo

Today, the composer Josema García Hormigo, who recently won the First Prize and Gold Medal at the renowned International Rachmaninoff Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors, was received by the Mayor, José María García Urbano. García Hormigo emerged victorious among fifteen participants from around the globe, showcasing a successful career adorned with accolades. His piece ‘Synapsis Piano Concerto’ was premiered at the Moscow Conservatory’s Grand Hall during the competition’s closing ceremony. García Urbano commended the composer on his outstanding professional journey and extended best wishes for his future endeavors. Despite his young age, García has a solid musical background and has undertaken significant projects, including commissions from the Vancouver Chamber Choir and an opera for the Fundación Goya.
