An immersive exhibit, offering a didactic exploration into the inner workings of the human body through real and meticulously preserved organs, is now open for public viewing until May 11. The Exhibition and Conference Center in Estepona plays host to ‘HUMAN FORMS, Evolution. Genuine human bodies’, a globally acclaimed traveling exhibit, inviting visitors to delve into the intricacies and magnificence of the human body. The primary aim of ‘HUMAN FORMS’ is to enlighten visitors on the composition of the human body, its organs, their arrangement, functions, and the adverse effects of unhealthy practices like smoking, poor diet, and a sedentary lifestyle. The exhibit offers a fresh perspective on the human body, showcasing real bodies and perfectly preserved organs that reveal every anatomical detail. It delves into the operations of the nervous, muscular, skeletal, circulatory systems and more, in an informative, impactful manner suitable for all age groups. Estepona’s Mayor, José María García Urbano, inaugurated the exhibit, underscoring its ‘educational and outreach value that appeals to audiences of all ages’. He expressed gratitude to the organizers for enabling Estepona to host this internationally successful project, facilitating engaging educational endeavors. The exhibit also extends a learning opportunity to schools and institutions, focusing on human anatomy, physiology, and health in the context of modern daily life. Virtual guides, displayed on LED screens, interact with visitors, ensuring an interactive, enjoyable experience for both children and adults. Spanning various rooms dedicated to different bodily systems – skeletal, muscular, nervous, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, urinary, and reproductive – the bodies on display are preserved using the plastination technique, developed by the German anatomist Gunther Von Hagens. This preservation method, perfected over 20 years, is the sole technique employed to maintain the integrity of bodies for public viewing. The exhibit is open for viewing until May 11, from Tuesday to Friday, between 17:00 and 21:00; and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 11:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 21:00. Educational visits will be conducted during school hours. Tickets are priced at 12 euros, with discounts available for Estepona residents upon onsite purchase.
