A series of events organized by the ‘Manzanares Estepona 1831′ association will commemorate the significant roles played by the liberals Salvador Manzanares and Pedro Manrique in upholding constitutionalist and democratic values. The program, presented by Maria Aguilar, councilor of Citizen Participation; Jose Maria Guerrero, historian of the Association Manzanares Estepona 1831; and Miguel Lopez, actor and herald of the event, will take place from March 6 to 9 in Estepona. Activities include a prologue-monologue performance, a symposium, a commemorative act at the Historical Cemetery, and a Historical Recreation and parade featuring over two hundred participants dressed in 1831-style attire. The parade will wind through the streets of Estepona, culminating at the Historic Cemetery. The event will also pay tribute to Pedro Manrique, a young man from Estepona who shared Manzanares’ ideals of democracy.
