The municipal government is set to initiate the tender process for the management and expansion of the premises situated at the marina for a period of 25 years. The City of Estepona will be launching a call for proposals to grant the administrative concession for the area where the previous Tourist Office was located, aiming to transform it into a youth hostel. Covering an area of 808 square meters, the chosen company will be responsible for the necessary renovations to bring the existing structure up to the standards required for youth hostels. The concession will be granted for a 25-year term, with an initial minimum yearly fee of 41,015.41 euros plus taxes, subject to annual adjustments. The contract will be awarded to the proposal that best aligns with municipal interests, while also meeting all specified conditions. The concessionaire will be responsible for funding all development works on the site, including infrastructure and urbanization. Upon expiration of the agreement, ownership of the property will revert back to the City Council. This move activates municipal assets, breathing new life into a previously unused building that had remained dormant following the relocation of the tourist office to the historic center. Furthermore, it expands the city’s lodging options by introducing a type of accommodation that was previously unavailable in the area. This new establishment complements the ‘Estepona Garden of the Costa del Sol’ project, which has revitalized the entire urban landscape of the city, turning it into a prominent tourist destination.
