Journalist Rubén Amón will be meeting the public on July 25 to discuss his latest work ‘We Need to Talk’. On July 18, Malaga historian Roy del Postigo will be introducing ‘Passion and Desire: Songs, Bodies and Resilience’, with a special appearance by artist Roberto Aragon from Estepona. The Library of Contemporary Cultures, situated in the Mirador del Carmen, continues its summer schedule with two important literary events this July, featuring renowned journalist Rubén Amón and Malaga historian Roy del Postigo. Del Postigo’s book ‘Passion and Desire: Songs, Bodies and Resilience in Andalusian Folklore’, published by Dos Bigotes, explores how Andalusian popular culture has served as a platform for dissent and resistance over the years. Roy del Postigo, an art historian with a master’s degree in Contemporary Art History and Visual Culture, will be joined by artist Roberto Aragon for the book presentation. Rubén Amón will be presenting his book ‘We Need to Talk’ (Espasa) on July 25 at the Library of Contemporary Cultures, in a discussion moderated by Paco Reyero. A prominent Spanish journalist, Amón has worked for various media outlets and has a strong presence in the literary world with essays that touch on art, politics, and society. In ‘We Need to Talk’, Amón advocates for meaningful conversations and their therapeutic value in a world filled with noise from technology and the constraints of political correctness. Admission to both events is free until seating capacity is reached.
