In response to local demand, the municipality will proceed with the construction of a sidewalk on the stretch of the Benahavís road (A-7175) between the A-7 highway (Mar y Monte urbanization) and De la Alquería avenue. Following the transfer of ownership from the Andalusian Regional Government to the municipality, Estepona Town Hall has initiated the necessary procedures for the sidewalk project. The upcoming tender for the construction works will be announced shortly. With the ownership now in the hands of the municipality, the City Council aims to enhance the area by facilitating pedestrian traffic and connecting surrounding developments. The sidewalk will be built on the west side of the road to meet the residents’ long-standing request. The estimated cost of the project is around 1.5 million euros, with an expected completion time of four months. Additionally, the municipality is also working on a river path along the Guadalmina river, creating a pedestrian and bicycle-friendly route parallel to the river for approximately 2.5 kilometers, linking to the coastal corridor section of Atalaya-Isdabe.
