Significant Increase in Citizen Procedures Processed Electronically by Estepona City Council

Throughout 2025, a total of 43,533 procedures were managed by the Estepona City Council. Among the most sought-after procedures are documentation submissions, license applications, registration certificates, and declarations of responsibility. Over the past five years, the number of procedures processed has tripled, indicating a growing activity level between citizens and the electronic headquarters of the Estepona City Council. This digital platform has been continuously enhancing its services, now offering virtually all procedures that a citizen may require from the local government online. Various departments have seen high registration numbers, with Statistics leading at 10,254, followed by Licenses (5,903), Commerce (2,949), Registrations (2,434), and Opening Licenses (2,236). Popular procedures include documentation submissions (11,996), registration certificates (8,452), general requests (6,513), municipal census registrations (862), responsible declarations (695), and applications for public employment selection processes. Deputy Mayor of the Economic Area, Ana Vilaseca, highlighted the increasing trend of residents using this efficient tool for administrative tasks. The electronic identification and signature system has significantly streamlined processes, allowing for remote completion of various formalities from home or office. With over a hundred available actions on the electronic platform, residents can easily access services ranging from certificate applications to urban planning permissions, tax payments, and more. The Estepona City Council’s dedication to incorporating new technologies has enabled a simple and secure interaction between residents and the local administration.
