Maria Aguilar, the councilor linked to the Social Services and Social Integration delegation, warmly greeted the participants in the initial intake of the year and handed out certificates to graduates of the previous 2025 edition. Estepona City remains committed to educating youth through complimentary workshops in Gardening, Electricity, Plumbing, and Masonry. Maria Aguilar welcomed the arrival of 16 new students for the first intake of the year and presented certificates to those who completed the last edition. The mayor disclosed that the City Council annually trains almost fifty young individuals in these sought-after professions, with many successfully entering the job market. The popularity of these workshops among local businesses has been underscored, as they increasingly seek to hire graduates for their well-rounded skills. The municipal authority also praised the significant social and labor integration achieved through this program, providing a path for youth aged 16 to 24 who have completed training or are unemployed to enter the workforce. Throughout the year, the Council conducts three workshop sessions, each lasting three months, offering 250 hours of comprehensive theoretical and practical training. Practical sessions take place at contracted companies providing municipal services, facilitating hands-on experience to tackle real-world challenges in their field. Students also engage in social work, collaborating with local associations under professional supervision. Additionally, Gardening workshop attendees receive training in phytosanitary product application, a crucial skill for their profession. The curriculum includes job search guidance, informative sessions on drug prevention, occupational safety, home fire risks, as well as recreational and sports activities. Students are referred by school counselors, parents, or can express interest by contacting the City Council directly. Applications can be obtained from the Social Services delegation at Avenida San Lorenzo 31, and once completed, should be submitted to the Council’s Entry Register.
