The exhibition ‘What brings us together’, curated by art historian Mikey Rico, will be open to the public until July 3. The Estepona Town Hall has announced that Room 2 of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, situated in the Plaza de las Flores, will be showcasing the watercolor exhibition ‘What brings us together’ by the Argentine artist Flor Sangiao until July 3. Comprising of twelve pieces, this exhibition delves into the intimate and evocative world of an artist who has made nature observation her primary form of expression. Through the medium of watercolor on paper, Florencia Sangiao captures fleeting moments from reality, everyday instances that, through her perspective, become portals to the universal. The artworks featured in this exhibition are part of the series ‘The Garden belongs to those who take care of it’, a project that explores the symbiotic bond between humans and their natural surroundings. The exhibition, curated by art historian and advisor Mikey Rico, will be open until July 3, from Tuesday to Friday between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with free admission. Florencia Sangiao Rivera, known artistically as Flor Sangiao, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1987. Drawing became her instinctive form of expression from a young age. Despite starting her education in architecture, she soon shifted her focus to art, studying drawing, painting, sculpture, and illustration at various institutions. However, it is her self-taught exploration and life experiences, influenced by travel and motion, that have shaped her current style: an organic and synthetic line that seeks the essence of forms and emotions. In this exhibition, Sangiao’s artworks prompt us to pause, observe attentively, and discover the common thread that binds us as humans. Her watercolors not only depict scenes, but also communicate our connection with the natural world and with ourselves. Each brushstroke, each absence, each detail, serves as a catalyst for introspection on our personal narrative and our relationship with the environment we coexist in. ‘What brings us together’ celebrates the beauty found in simplicity, in the everyday, and in the nature that envelops us. It serves as a reminder that, in a diverse and multicultural world, we all share a common essence.
