The municipal government will soon start the process to revitalize the Plaza Estandarte, turning it into a space for social gatherings, recreation, and relaxation. Estepona City Council is actively working on a comprehensive plan to revamp the neighborhoods in the area, with a focus on enhancing the Plaza Estandarte in Tres Banderas for the benefit of residents. The upcoming tender for the renovation works aims to address the current dilapidated state of the square by modernizing and transforming it. The proposed improvements include new furniture, shaded areas, landscaping, children’s play equipment, and upgraded lighting. The goal is to convert the underutilized square into a vibrant hub for leisure activities and community interactions. Deputy Mayor of Infrastructure, Ana Velasco, emphasizes that this initiative is part of the ongoing effort to meet the evolving needs of traditional neighborhoods. The initial budget for the project is set at 397,000 euros, with the final cost to be determined based on the most cost-effective bid during the procurement process. Recently, the City Council has commissioned the design of three ambitious projects for neighborhood revitalization. These projects will involve extensive work in Tres Banderas, Orquidario, Avenida AndalucĂa, Plaza del Ajedrez, Valencia, Formentera, Cabrera, Conejera, and Cancelada, encompassing street renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and landscaping improvements.
