The City Council of Estepona has received three offers from companies interested in taking over the operation of the municipal food market. The goal is to enhance trade in the area by implementing a definitive and high-quality project. The market building, along with all its facilities, was put up for concession last April for commercial purposes such as catering, product sales, and other authorized activities. The aim is to revitalize the historical center of the municipality through this new project. The interested companies, with experience in the catering, hotel, and tourism sectors, come from Malaga (Estepona and Marbella) and Seville. The property, spanning 950 square meters and located on Villa Street in the city center, will be leased for 20 years with an annual fee set at 83,362 euros. The selection criteria will prioritize the most financially advantageous offer. The successful bidder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all legal requirements for the operation of the building, with no cost or risk for the City Council. The Estepona Market, originally built in 1949, underwent a renovation in 2018 to transform it into a hotel and commercial establishment.
