The event ‘Night of the Video Game’ is scheduled for next Tuesday, August 5th, at 9:30 pm, and offers free entry. The Estepona City Council has announced that the Estepona Classical Music Festival will wrap up its themed programming with a special evening dedicated to the video game ‘Skyrim’ on Tuesday, August 5th, at 21:30, at Plaza del Reloj. The ‘Night of the Video Game’ will feature a performance by the quartet ‘Busker String Quartet’, comprised of musicians David Gonzalez, Alfredo Reyes, Jose Luis Moreno, and Fernando Arce, paying homage to ‘Skyrim’. In their concert ‘Skyrim, The String Quartet Tribute’, Busker String Quartet aims to introduce chamber music, particularly through the string quartet format, to the younger audiences who are interested in video game content. Additionally, the quartet seeks to reach out to gaming societies and online communities. They also intend to showcase the rich musical and cultural heritage present in video game soundtracks and composers, which often go unnoticed by many in society. ‘Skyrim’, released in 2011, is considered a milestone in the RPG genre, setting the standard for open-world role-playing and fantasy games. Composer Jeremy Soule, known for his work in over 60 video games, including ‘Guild Wars’ and ‘The Elder Scrolls’ series, crafted the iconic soundtrack for ‘Skyrim’. The Estepona Classical Music Festival commenced on July 19 with a concert featuring ‘Great Myths of Cinema’ by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga, followed by performances showcasing Scandinavian and Baroque music, culminating in the tribute to ‘Skyrim’.
