Two downhill lanes and one uphill lane will be opened on the section of Avenida Juan Carlos I between the fountain traffic circle and the Fire Station to alleviate traffic congestion. The aim is to address the peak hour traffic issues by providing additional lanes for easier access to the town center from the highway. Deputy Mayor Ana Velasco highlights the importance of this change in optimizing traffic flow in the area. The municipal workers are currently repositioning the horizontal signaling to accommodate the new traffic direction. In addition, the City Council is working on the construction of a new traffic circle on José Martín Méndez avenue to further enhance traffic organization in the region. The Consistory is also pushing for a new access point from the A-7 highway, showing readiness to cover expenses and oversee construction if approved by the central government.
