The deadline for submitting photos is from April 1 to 20. The City Council of Estepona has announced that the municipal Culture department has opened the registration period for the ‘IV Bookface Contest’, with the goal of encouraging creativity and reading habits through a combination of photography and literature. Participants are required to create an image where the cover of a book aligns with a person’s face or body, resulting in a unique and imaginative visual composition. Residents of Estepona of any age are eligible to enter the contest, with each person allowed to submit up to two original photos that have not won any previous awards. The photos must be in JPG or PNG format, with a minimum resolution of 1,920 X 1,080 pixels, and should be emailed to admbiblioteca@estepona.es along with the participant’s name, age, contact information, and a guardian’s authorization for minors. The photo submission period is open from April 1 to 20, 2025. Images that infringe upon personal privacy, family rights, or show disrespect towards religious beliefs or sexual orientation will be disqualified. A panel of judges will evaluate the entries based on creativity, technical skill, and originality, with cash prizes of 150, 100, and 50 euros awarded to the top three winners. The prize distribution ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 23, which coincides with International Book Day. A selection of the submitted photos will be displayed at the Padre Manuel Cultural Center for a limited time.
