The Estepona Town Hall has announced that Room 2 at Casa de Las Tejerinas, situated in the Plaza de las Flores, will feature a collection of paintings by the Estepona-based artist Antonio García-Trevijano from April 24. The exhibit, titled ‘The artist and his world’, will include over twenty paintings, predominantly oils on canvas and other textures. The inauguration will take place on Thursday, April 24, at 6:00 p.m., and will be accessible to the public until May 7. Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday, 09:00 to 20:00; and Saturdays, 09:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 20:00, with free admission. Antonio García-Trevijano Fernández reflects on his artistic journey, stating, ‘My passion for drawing began at the age of seven during a period of illness that confined me to bed for months. In the late seventies and early eighties, I co-founded a small artistic movement in San Roque, Cadiz, experimenting with ceramics, sculpture, and painting. I showcased my work at various cultural venues in San Roque, Sanlucar de Barrameda, La Linea de la Concepcion, and Algeciras.’ In the early 2000s, Garcia-Trevijano exhibited in Paris and honed his skills as a self-taught artist over the past two decades. He shares, ‘The inspiration for this exhibit arose during the pandemic when I had ample time for introspection, resulting in a collection that encapsulates my innermost thoughts, feelings, and emotions.’
