Today marks the beginning of the renovation of the black chamber’s curtain and the installation of a new front curtain. Estepona’s City Council is currently undertaking improvements in the Teatro Auditorio Felipe VI. The ongoing works include the refurbishment of the black chamber’s curtains and the installation of a new embouchure backdrop. These new curtains are crafted from special opaque cotton fabric with flame retardant and acoustic properties, totaling over 750 square meters in size. Additionally, a new black velvet curtain with fireproof treatment is being installed, measuring 16 meters wide by 4 meters high. The project, costing 13,487.27 euros, is being carried out by the specialized company Teatrerya. The revamped stage will make its debut on May 2nd, featuring a concert by the Symphony Orchestra and Choirs of Weber State University under the direction of Francisco de Gálvez from Malaga. Furthermore, the City Council is in the process of selecting a new operator to manage and run the facility, ensuring a diverse and high-quality program for leisure and cultural events.
