Anticipated to participate are over a hundred athletes competing in the U15 and U17 divisions. The presentation of the Andalusian Climbing Championship for school-aged participants in 2025, set to take place in Estepona this weekend, was made today by the councilman responsible for Sports, Luis Gil, and Francisco Jimenez from the Mountain Group Estepona GRUME. This event, organized by the Andalusian Federation of mountain sports, climbing and hiking in conjunction with the C.D. Estepona Mountain Group (GRUME), with the support of the City Council, aims to encourage climbing as a sporting activity among young people. The championship will be held at Estepona’s climbing wall on May 24th and 25th, 2025. The City Council’s goal is to promote and facilitate the hosting of sports events in the city, leading to the creation of new sports facilities and the enhancement of existing ones. The construction of the professional climbing wall at the fairgrounds, sports and leisure area has provided numerous enthusiasts with the opportunity to engage in this sport in Estepona. The competition will feature two categories: U15 for athletes aged 13-14, with the possibility of including those who are 12 years old this year, and U17 for athletes aged 15-16 this year.
