Work has begun on the stretch that goes through Matas Verdes, the Costa Natura project is being developed, and the necessary authorizations have been obtained for Guadalmina Baja-Casasasola and Bahía Dorada. The permits for Isdabe-Atalaya are currently being processed. The Estepona City Council is approaching the completion of the long-term project initiated over a decade ago to establish a corridor along the entire coastline of the municipality. The remaining five sections are now being addressed to finalize this significant infrastructure project. With 95% of the route completed, construction has commenced on the Playa Baños-Matas Verdes segment this week. This section will feature a 575-meter wooden walkway, linking the La Playa avenue to the west with the Marriott’s Playa Andaluza establishment, while also connecting to Punta de Baños-Casasasola and Saladillo beach. The investment in this project amounts to 578,758 euros. Simultaneously, work is underway on the projects for two additional sections in Bahía Dorada and Atalaya. The municipal government is also progressing with the Guadalmina Baja-Casasasola and Costa Natura areas. Once completed, this ambitious project will enhance the tourism potential of the municipality and provide a valuable asset for sustainable urban development. The coastal corridor, a strategic initiative launched in 2011, has already transformed 21 kilometers of coastline, with 95% of the path now accessible to the public. The installation of 17 large wooden bridges along the route has opened up previously isolated areas, allowing citizens to enjoy these spaces through walking or recreational activities.
