Estepona’s City Council has unveiled the lineup of events planned in partnership with El Escenario Club for the Global LGTBIQ+ Pride Day, set to take place on June 20 and 21. This year’s festivities will include parades, film screenings, panel discussions, and a grand celebration. Council member for Citizen Participation, Maria Aguilar, along with representatives from El Escenario, have outlined the comprehensive program for the LGTBIQ+ Pride celebration. The events kick off on Friday, June 20, at 7:00 pm with a screening of the film ‘I’m loving you madly’ at the Centro Cultural Padre Manuel auditorium. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the LGTBIQ+ community at El Escenario at 10:00 pm. The activities will continue on Saturday, June 21, with a parade organized by El Escenario Club LGTBIQ+ as a show of support for the community’s rights. The parade will commence from Orchid Park, traverse Calle Terraza and Avenida España, leading to Plaza de García Caparros, Paseo Marítimo, Calle Viento, Calle Caravaca, and culminating at Plaza del Reloj. The climax of the Global LGTBIQ+ Pride Day celebration in Estepona will be at 8:00 pm with a speech by Lolita Reina at Plaza del Reloj, followed by the flag-raising ceremony and a lively party featuring local Drag performances, a photo booth, face painting, music, and a charity bar in support of the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
