In order to promote the integration of children at risk of social exclusion, Estepona City Council is once again collaborating with the Football Campus ‘Adolfo Aldana’. This initiative offers scholarships to youngsters from various municipalities along the Costa de Sol. The councilors from Social Services and Sports, Maria Aguilar and Luis Gil, have emphasized the social significance of this program, which aims to foster integration through sports. Thanks to a partnership with the La Caixa Foundation, the council has secured 5 scholarships for children between 5 and 16 years old who are facing social exclusion. These scholarships are awarded to students selected by Social Services based on their positive progress throughout the school year. The participants will be transported by bus daily to enjoy a week-long intensive course. Apart from honing their football skills, the camp also focuses on instilling values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, camaraderie, and environmental awareness. The councilors commend the valuable work done by the Football Campus ‘Adolfo Aldana’ and Obra Social ‘La Caixa’ in promoting inclusive sports and values education through football. They express gratitude for providing children with an opportunity they might not have had otherwise, which will motivate them to strive for improvement and positively impact their education.
