The organization of the brotherhood in Estepona, in collaboration with the City Council, has arranged for the XL National Pilgrimage of Brotherhoods and Confraternities of the Vera Cruz, as well as the XXVII Meeting of Young Crusaders, to take place from September 26 to 28. Estepona is set to welcome brotherhoods from all corners of Spain for these significant events, which are highly anticipated by the various brotherhoods and fraternities. Mayor José María García Urbano, alongside elder brother Francisco Aguilar and spiritual director José Carlos Huete, unveiled the program of events scheduled for the occasion. The city is expected to host around a thousand participants, offering them the chance to explore a welcoming city with a high quality of life and numerous attractions. The Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of the Vera+Cruz of Estepona successfully secured the hosting rights after competing with two Seville localities last year, and is now gearing up for a packed schedule of activities that will promote faith, devotion, unity, and cultural exchange among the participating groups. The program includes visits to local landmarks, discussions on faith, a music concert, and culminates in a Pilgrim’s Mass followed by a lunch gathering of brotherhoods and sisterhoods. Additionally, Estepona will mark the 25th anniversary of the Virgin of Solitude this year, with the image receiving the City’s Medal and a public space named in its honor, as approved by the City Council.
