This exhibition marks the debut solo display in the city by the renowned artist Juan Miguel Quiñones, known for his impressive marble replicas of summer items with international acclaim. The Estepona City Council announced the inauguration of the exhibit ‘Quiñones: Al Origen’ at the Mirador del Carmen this Friday. It is a unique opportunity to delve into the artist’s world, showcasing 180 marble sculptures depicting iconic summer objects like ice cream cones, beach toys, fins, surfboards, and scooters. Quiñones’ sculptures, crafted in the classic material of marble, create monumental replicas of beloved summer symbols that evoke memories and emotions. The exhibition, on view until December 14, offers a nostalgic journey intertwining personal and collective memories through six thematic sections. Visitors can explore the artist’s connection to his roots in Estepona and the influence of this region on his work. Quiñones’ work reflects a deep bond with traditional stonemasonry and manual marble craftsmanship, shaped by his upbringing in Vejer de la Frontera.
