Throughout most of the year, residents can now utilize a new crossing over the Guadalmansa river, connecting Cancelada with urbanizations like Las Joyas, La Resina, and Selwo. The initiative aims to reduce unnecessary trips to the highway for those living in these suburbs, providing easier access to schools and shopping areas. The ford, constructed with reinforced concrete slabs, enhances functionality, accessibility, and safety on the rural road. Special attention is given to periods of heavy rainfall, during which the crossing will be closed for traffic. Completed by Alpasa Obra Civil S.L. with an investment of 115,000 euros, the project meets the standards set by the Hydraulic Administration of the Andalusian Mediterranean Basin. Importantly, the work does not compromise the drainage capacity of the public channel, aligning with the city’s urban development plans for future infrastructure improvements.
