María Aguilar, the councilwoman overseeing Education, recently visited the Gloria Fuertes Public Nursery School to mark the commencement of the 2025-2026 school year for Nursery and Primary Education. Estepona’s City Council has allocated more than 250,000 euros over the summer to enhance public schools in the area. The councilor, Maria Aguilar, detailed that the various improvement and maintenance projects, totaling over a hundred, were carefully scheduled during the summer months to minimize disruptions to students and staff. These projects were identified based on the needs outlined by the school administrations themselves. From installing safety flooring to painting classrooms, the works spanned across multiple schools in Estepona, such as CEIP García Lorca, CEIP Santo Tomás, and Nursery School Gloria Fuertes. These efforts were complemented by a comprehensive maintenance program, covering repairs, painting, masonry, and plumbing, among other tasks. The City Council’s commitment to maintaining school facilities year-round has resulted in over a thousand actions carried out annually.
