The contract for the construction of the velodrome in Estepona has been awarded to the UTE Ecofilia-Pinus, with a reduced execution period of 9 months. The project will include rugby, cycling, and soccer facilities, along with a periurban park spanning over 20,000 square meters. The oval-shaped cycling stadium will accommodate a thousand spectators, with amenities such as bleachers, toilets, changing rooms, gymnasium, offices, and storage spaces. Located in the northwest of the municipality, the velodrome will be equipped with basic services before construction begins. The playing field dimensions will comply with sports regulations for soccer and rugby, while the cycling track design will meet UCI standards. The City Council is also working on a partial plan that includes the construction of 300 subsidized housing units, promoting access to housing and urban development.
