Estepona’s local government is planning to implement innovative strategies aimed at enhancing the social integration of foreign nationals living in the city. With residents from 135 countries, constituting 32 percent of the population, Estepona is viewed as a model of multicultural coexistence. The ‘Sharing Cultures’ program, currently celebrating Ukraine and Nordic Countries, will be expanded to further promote diversity and unity. Mayor José María García Urbano emphasizes the city’s appeal to individuals who have chosen Estepona as their home or business location, highlighting the warm reception they have received. To foster cultural exchange and integration, the City Council is intensifying collaboration with foreign communities, organizing events, and facilitating communication channels. Notably, the ‘Sharing Cultures’ initiative continues to showcase the traditions, cuisine, and art of various nationalities, fostering interaction and understanding among residents. Through upcoming events like the Nordic Countries and Ukraine Days, Estepona reaffirms its dedication to cultural diversity and social cohesion, essential for the city’s progress and prosperity.
