The completion of the urbanization project in El Taraje, approved by the City Council, has resulted in the establishment of 18,300 meters of connecting roads running east-west and north-south, along with 11,800 square meters of green spaces and 9,000 square meters of facilities. Estepona City Council has announced the successful conclusion of the urbanization and infrastructure development works in the El Taraje area. Covering over 103,131 square meters, this significant project includes the construction of a new connecting road to simplify access to Cancelada from Camino Briján. Mayor José María García Urbano visited the area following the completion and handover of the project, emphasizing its importance for the suburban area’s advancement. The urbanization efforts have also created a substantial green zone spanning 11,800 square meters, featuring playgrounds and bio-health amenities, alongside an additional 9,000 square meters for diverse facilities such as sports, education (6,000 square meters), social services, cultural spaces, and commercial venues. Five new roads have been established, totaling 18,300 meters, ensuring seamless connectivity in both north-south and east-west directions. The councilor highlighted the ongoing initiatives to enhance suburban connections, including the recent opening of a new ford over the Guadalmansa river to link Cancelada with neighboring urbanizations like Las Joyas, La Resina, and Selwo.
