The Estepona City Council announced that more than 700 athletes took part in the XII Urban Race 10 KM ‘Trofeo Reciclados Jurado’ on Sunday, a prominent event in the local and Andalusian sports calendar. Javier Díaz Carretero and Claire Simonet secured the top spots in the 10 km race for men and women, with Miguel García Molina and Emma Jones leading the 5 km race. The race theme this year was ‘United for Sport and Recycling’, reflected in the design of the event T-shirt, which highlighted the values of sportsmanship, sustainability, and Estepona’s identity. Sponsored by Estepona rider Rafa Montero, the event also featured the charitable aspect, with proceeds from children’s races benefiting the Ubuntu Association and donated food going to the Comedor Social Emaús. Winners in each category included Javier Díaz Carretero, Claire Simonet, Miguel García Molina, Emma Jones, and others.
