The lecture ‘Rediscovering El Bosco’ will be presented by Rocío Garín, instructor at the Municipal Drawing and Painting Workshop, on Monday, November 24th, at 7:00 p.m., with free entry until seating is full. The Estepona City Council announces that on Monday, November 24th, at 19:00, a pictorial talk on ‘El Bosco’, one of the Flemish painting masters, will take place in the Press Room of the Padre Manuel Cultural Center. The talk, with free entry until seating is full, will be led by Rocio Garin, an instructor at the Drawing and Painting Workshop of the municipal Culture delegation. Among other topics, the speaker will delve into the life, style, and influences of the artist Jheronimus van Aken (Bolduque, c. 1450-1516), known as ‘El Bosco’, through some of his renowned works like ‘The Garden of Earthly Delights’, ‘Extraction of the Stone of Madness’, and ‘The hay wagon’. Attendees will have the opportunity to interpret his paintings, understand how much of ‘El Bosco’ is reflected in his works, and discover the recent findings about this mysterious painter. Estepona artist Rocío Garín (1977) has had a passion for ‘drawing and painting’ since a young age. She studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Algeciras and later graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Seville in 2001. After working as a restorer of significant monuments and church facades in Seville, she returned to Estepona in 2002 to teach drawing and painting. In addition to teaching, she has also been involved in research and artistic endeavors, publishing a ‘Drawing and Painting Manual’ in 2013 that covers essential techniques and tools for beginner students.
