As part of the overall improvement plan, the Estepona City Council is undertaking renovations in the city center and neighborhoods. The focus is now on the renovation of Cristobal Colon Square, where new paving, street furniture, and infrastructure will be installed. Covering an area of 1,841 square meters between Cristóbal Colón and María de Maeztu streets, the project has a budget of 468,952 euros and a 4-month timeline. The deteriorating pavement and urban elements will be replaced to enhance the area’s appearance. The assessment of existing infrastructure has led to plans for new sewage and rainwater networks, as well as updated supply connections. The square will also feature green spaces, a fountain, and a drinking fountain. These improvements aim to create a more welcoming and accessible environment for users of the Aprona Foundation, a support organization for people with disabilities in the municipality.
