To raise awareness about proper waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) management, Estepona City Council is taking part in the Andalusian campaign #DonaVidaAlPlaneta. The initiative, led by WEEE Andalusia and supported by various organizations, aims to encourage responsible habits that protect the environment. The campaign will hold information days on November 27 at Plaza Antonia Guerrero and on December 11 at Calle Real, offering guidance on recycling WEEE and its resources. Recycling these devices can reuse up to 90% of materials, reducing environmental impact. The Councilor for the Environment, Ana Velasco, highlighted the importance of citizen participation in recycling efforts, emphasizing the benefits of reducing pollution and promoting a circular economy. Estepona City Council also offers a garbage fee reduction for those who recycle at the clean point regularly. The DonaVidaAlPlaneta campaign advocates for giving WEEE a second life through reuse and recycling, promoting green jobs and a sustainable urban model. Estepona’s involvement in the campaign reinforces its commitment to sustainability and encourages a more eco-friendly community.
