A micro-donation campaign called ‘Eres Pieza Clave’ (You are a Key Piece) has been launched with the goal of raising 355,000 euros by January 2026. The mayor of Estepona, José María García Urbano, and the financial director of the Cudeca Foundation, Rafael Olalla, presented this initiative. The campaign aims to cover part of the costs of the Foundation’s Hospitalization Unit, which provides specialized palliative care to over 240 patients annually. Estepona’s mayor emphasized the importance of supporting Cudeca’s social and health work, praising the Foundation’s commitment to those in need. The campaign invites individuals, companies, and institutions to contribute, highlighting that every donation, regardless of size, makes a difference. The Hospitalization Unit, with 10 single rooms and a 24-hour multidisciplinary team, requires 355,000 euros annually to operate, with the remaining costs covered by donations. To collaborate, donations can be made online, via Bizum, bank transfer, or in person at specific locations. Donors may receive a symbolic key ring as a token of appreciation. Cudeca Foundation, established in 1992, provides free professional palliative care in Malaga, supporting both patients and their families. The Foundation relies on various sources for funding, including citizen solidarity, events, partners, volunteers, and charity stores.
