Scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m., the presentation will take place at the Alfonso Gil Alfonso Hall of the Casa de Las Tejerinas, with Pedro Villarejo as the presenter. Estepona’s City Council announces the upcoming event where Pilar Laura Martinez de la Puerta’s book “Poems in time” will be introduced. Through this collection, the author delves into the emotions that have shaped various moments of her life, aiming to connect with readers through shared feelings and ideas. The poems touch on personal experiences, women’s roles, love for the land, the calling of teaching, and the importance of introspection. The ultimate goal is to elevate culture and foster a sense of connection among individuals’ experiences. The author, born in Jaén, comes from a family deeply rooted in education. She pursued higher education and earned a primary education teaching degree, starting her career in Jaén before settling in Estepona’s CEIP Santo Tomás de Aquino until retirement. Known for spearheading the “Grandparents in the classroom” project, she brought elderly wisdom and memories to school settings during her final fifteen years of teaching. With five children and five grandchildren, she balanced her teaching career with active involvement in cultural pursuits, achieving recognition in national short story and poetry competitions. Following retirement, she has continued her writing journey with two novels already published and now unveils “Poems in time”, a blend of her poetic sensitivity and perspective on life.
